The City of Santa Clarita City Council has proclaimed April 16 to 22 as Arts Week, as part of an advocacy initiative instituted by Arts for LA across the county. Mayor Laurene Weste will be presenting a proclamation and Arts Commission Chair Susan Shapiro will be acknowledging the local arts organizations, such as SCVPA, that make such a huge impact on the Santa Clarita Valley. The proclamation will be at the beginning of the meeting. Members of the arts community will also be speaking in the Public Participation section of the agenda, with a theme of the important contributions that arts and cultural organizations make to a community.
